What your website user sees is the ‘front end’.
When you update the content on the website you do this through the ‘back end’
In which case the Control Panel is the backdoor! This manages the computer (server) on which your website runs.
The Control Panel is a user-friendly graphical interface that you will easily find your way around.
Through the control panel you can:
- Set up and manage email accounts
- Set up automatic forwarding
- Control your spam filters
- Review your access statistics with AWStats and Webalizer
- Update name servers and DNS records if you move your site to another hosting service.
Most likely you will use the Email section to create, or delete, email addresses and set up email forwarders.
When an email is sent to one of your email addresses, it is often forwarded to your personal address so that you can read it but it is still there in your website email account. If it is not cleaned out occasionally the account will fill up and you will not be able to receive anymore emails.
Your Control Panel is accessed via stackcp.com. Only authorised users can access it with an email address and password. This can be set up on request via andrew@anisbet.net
