Website Hosting. Your website is hosted on powerful servers provided by 20i.com. Most website hosting companies leave all the development and maintenance to you but, with ANWS, the hosting fee can include all or some of the following as part of a Managed Hosting Service.
- Site Design & Development or you can DIY or employ your own developer using our guidelines.
- Software updates Updates to plugins are published weekly and updates to the Core system several times a year. Minor updates, for security, bug fixes or compatibility, are automatically installed. Updates to functionality are risk assessed before installation and the site tested. This ensures your site is always on the latest software, with maximum function, security and performance.
- Backups – Essential to guard against software corruption, hacking and, yes, end user errors! Mistakes happen. Sites are generally backed up weekly but there are options of monthly, daily and on demand. The backups are stored in a professional Dropbox account and is also your emergency recovery plan as we haven’t yet found the elixir of eternal life. There will be a separate page about this soon.
- Traffic monitoring – The standard AWStats and Webalizer are available through the 20i.com Control Panel but sites can have either Google Analytics or Slimstat installed. You can be given access to this data, or we can monitor and report back on areas that are popular and those that are not accessed regularly. The Bounce Rate, how long people stay on a page before leaving, is an important metric to help you develop your site as part of SEO.
- SEO Search Engine Optimisation – ANWS can make sure your site appears prominently in searches using software which rates and suggests improvement to content which either you can make or can be done for you. Really, do not pay vast sums for this to anyone!
- Content Publishing. You can do your own, we can teach you, but we will also do one news item, with a picture, or an hour per month adding or amending a page. More than that there will be a fee that we can discuss.
- eCommerce. Select, Install, Configure, Load data and set up…
- Payment Systems. Stripe is now one of the largest global payment gateways competing with Paypal. GoCardLess (UK direct debit), Alipay and others can be set up. Each has their fee structure and ANWS can advise and implement.
- Restore Websites. Whether hosted by AN Web Services or not, from ancient disks, CD ROMS or other sources your website will soon be running again.
- Migrations to and from other hosts. This has traps and problems that our experience can avoid to ensure a smooth migration.
- VPS (Virtual Private Server). These machines have the resources you need for systems such as online multiplayer games or large eCommerce sites. Managed by 20i, or by you, or by ANWS for you. More on the Hosting Services page
- Technical and business support By phone 10am to 10pm most days of the week, using Chat at anytime (although we do sleep occasionally) and we can also call on 20i’s excellent 24/365 support desk if necessary
- Zoom hosting can be offered with up to 100 attendees and provision of ‘gatekeeper’ services to ensure only bona fide people attend, share screens, provide a whiteboard, carry out polls, etc., allowing the meeting to proceed smoothly. It is also possible to set up ‘hybrid’ meetings, ie combined face-to-face and Zoom so that no-one is left out.
