Domain name

A Domain is an area of control in this case a website.
Domain names are purchased from a Registrar. There are Registrars for each TLD (Top Level Domain) such as .com, .uk, .net, .fr (France), .or, etc..
Domain names are sold by website hosts but the Registrars regulate those TLDs and records who owns them.
